School Improvement

School Efficiency and Effectiveness Audit (SEEA)

Purpose: To assist schools and/or school districts in systematically identifying, gathering, and analyzing pertinent and relevant school data and information for the purpose of identifying, implementing, and evaluating short-and long-term school improvement goals.

The National Study of School Evaluation (NSSE) School Improvement: Focusing on Student Performance, a comprehensive guide for data- driven and research-based school improvement planning, provides a viable framework for systematically identifying a school and/or school district’s educational strengths and identifying where serious school improvement efforts are needed. The NSSE school improvement process focuses on six school improvement stages:

  1. Developing the Profile
  2. Defining Beliefs and Mission
  3. Defining Desired Results for Student Learning
  4. Analyzing Instructional and Organizational Effectiveness
  5. Developing the Action Plan
  6. Implementing the Plan and Documenting Results

The NSSE, Indicators of Schools of Quality, are interwoven within the school improvement strategic planning process and focus on:

  1. The Quality of the Work of Students
  2. The Quality of the Work of Schools

Educational Renaissance provides the necessary and essential training to begin the school improvement process and facilitates the school improvement effort from start to finish.

Training Timeline: 1-2 Days

Facilitation Timeline: 6-8 Months

School Improvement “School improvement is hard work. But, if schools are not constantly improving and growing in their capacity to meet the needs of today’s students, then they are losing ground and failing in their mission of service to young people.” Kathleen A. Fitzpatrick, National Study of School Evaluation
